One Ketubah, Two Ketubot

Karen Gorst custom designs Ketubot for conservative, reform, interfaith and same sex couples. Familiar with Ashkenazi and Sephardic traditions, Ms. Gorst creates beautiful original designs that are infused with symbols that are meaningful to the couple and their faith. Ms.Gorst starts with learning about the couple, their family histories, their taste, and proposes ideas, sketches and refines the design. Through conversations with the artist and pictures, their one-of-a-kind Ketubah becomes a unique family heirloom.

All of the materials used in Ketubot are archival. The paints and inks are of the highest, most light fast quality. Many couples choose mineral pigments because of their light fastness and longevity. Our Ketubot are made on the highest grade of papers or on traditional parchment (klaf).

Every couple has their optimum price point and The Gorst Studio happily works within a couple's budget. Every Ketubah is designed to the couple's tastes. Original Ketubot start at $1200 (2 languages) and range to $50,000 (With blue made from lapis lazuli, and colors hand ground from other semiprecious stones, and plenty of gold or platinum leaf details.)

$200 initial consultation fee (nonrefundable) goes towards the Ketubah.
